We said “Goodbye” to the Group Study Exchange team from District 3860 in the Philippines in mid-October. They arrived in the UK on 19th September and spent 4 weeks in our district.

Rotarian Allan Limas (Team Leader), age 35: Furniture Manufacturer |

Honey Grace Samson, age 39 - Nurse.
|

Gail Anthony Bitancor, age 27 - Dentist |

Nancy Berame, age 37 - Teacher |
They had many vocational visits to give them practical experience of how their vocations are carried out in the UK. Honey Grace visited several hospitals and care homes, Gail dentists and dental laboratories, and Nancy several schools and centres for disaffected children. Of course the clubs hosting them took the opportunity also to show them some of the sights around area. The team also gave presentations to many club meetings, and notably to the District Conference in Eastbourne. Throughout the district they impressed Rotarians with their charm, humour, and above all their keenness to develop themselves and help their Filipino communities to advance. The Rotary clubs of Wellingborough Hatton, Huntingdon, Sleaford, Melton Mowbray, Peterborough, Stamford St. Martins and Leicester led the hosting; many thanks to them and to the other clubs, Rotarians and friends for making the Philippines team so welcome. |
